High Street, Perth, looking West

View of the High Street, Perth, looking West toward the tower of St Paul's Church. The line of the High Street was part of the medieval town of Perth. It was already developing from the early 12th century. By the early 14th century the ... Port was at the western end roughly where St Paul's Church is in the photograph.

Much of Perth High Street was developed for tenements as well as shops and businesses during the 18th and 19th centuries. Perth theatre further down on the right hand side at 177 - 187 was originally built in 1898. Further along at 199 is a rare late 18th century tenement with its wallhead gable onto the street.
