The green hat

Henry was a key figure in the group of painters now known as the Glasgow Boys. He trained at Glasgow School of Art. Others included William York MacGregor, Edward Atkinson Hornel and Arthur Melville. They took their lead from France. Their experiments, in particular Melville’s use of colour, had a lasting effect on the Scottish Colourists.
