After the storm, Loch Tay

William MacTaggart was the grandson of the 19th century landscape painter of the same name. he was born in Edinburgh and studied at art college there. Like the Colourists, he spent long periods in the South of France. Reflecting the impact of their work, he produced canvases such as this, with heavy paint and strong colour.
