Cook's Collection

Cook’s Collection’ is an assortment of imagined and factual dietary curiosities, acquired during Captain Cook’s voyages to the New World between 1768 and 1779. Free blown and sculpted hot glass, printed labels, inspired by Cook’s Journals 1st edition, images by Joseph Banks Botanical (Artist on the HMS Endeavour)from the Art Collection at Perth Museum and Art Gallery. The piece comprises of six vessels namely Marmalade; Madeira; Breadfruit; Resolution Ale; Kiwi Eggs; Endeavour Ale; Platypus Eggs This work was created specifically for the exhibition Trove a partnership exhibition between Perth Museum and Art Gallery and The Scottish Glass Society, March 2011- December 2011.
