Ms Ballantine's Salmon

This record fish was taken from the River Tay near Caputh in Perthshire by Miss Georgina Ballantine on October 7th 1922. Fishing with her ghillie father as dusk approached she hooked this monster salmon and after a battle which lasted two hours it was landed. The salmon weighed 29 kilograms (64 pounds) and is the heaviest British rod-caught salmon and a record which is unlikely to be beaten.
