Glovers Sword-Dance Dress

Dance costume comprises a cream and green silk dress or tunic with a red, pink and blue silk hat trimmed with a fringe with nuts hanging from it, a pair of red silk hose or tights, white leather shoes, and leather pads with brass bells and red ribbons attached to them. Worn during Charles I visit to Perth when he sat “…upon the wall next to the water of Tay” to watch members of the Glovers’ Guild perform on a “…floating staige of tymber.”
