Apron (Chilkat)

This apron was collected in the early nineteenth century from the Chilkat branch of the Tlingit American Nation. It is a ceremonial apron of the type worn by chiefs. The design comprises an inverted human face flanked by Killer whale motifs in green and black. Robertson 1833
