Brendel Botanical model

This model was made in the early 20th century by R Brendel & Co of Berlin, Germany. The models were made for the teaching of botany (plant science) and display in natural history museums. It comes apart in sections to reveal the internal structures of the capsule.The Perthshire Natural History Museum paid fifty shillings for the model when it was purchased from Brendel's in 1902.
