This unusual small sculpture focuses on the organic forms of an exotic Gloxinia, a type of orchid. Without the title we might assume that the work was totally abstract. The forms used echo Fergusson's lasting preference for the use of curving, rounded shapes, symbolising sensuousness, abundance and fertility.
